I had a great time at the Halloween party last Saturday night and waiting for my pictures to be developed, as my digital camera needs to be fixed. That's what happens with technology. I headed to the party with a few of my friends and met up with my blind date - the caped crusader. We had a great time and even waited till the party began to wind down to do the unmasking. I was really nervous at first because I didn't know what to expect but I hung in there. The anticipation of the unmasking was driving me nuts and I kept trying to sneak a peek at him under his mask but he wouldn't have any of that. When the moment arrived it was like everyone else disappeared into the background like in the movies when you see that athlete in the middle of a stadium and the noise of the fans goes quiet to silence.
I almost had a heart attack right there when the mask came off, as this was the guy who recently dated one of my good friends for a few weeks. Not a serious relationship, but it is technically an ex of a friend. I was really conflicted at that moment as this was a guy I really liked but did not want to pursue until I cleared it with my girlfriend. Nothing comes between friendships especially over a man, which I promptly told him. He was ok with that. Which impressed me. On Sunday I called my girlfriend to come over so we could chat and I told her what happened. She was fine with it and gave me the go-ahead to pursue dating him if I wanted as they only dated briefly. With that aside, I have my first official date with him tonight.
