It seems that as I continue on in my quest to find happiness with that special someone that those around me are already happy and settled with fantastic partners or are just beginning a new life together. There are few single gals left in my gaggle and we seem to cling to each other more so then we ever have in the past. Maybe it's the fact that us single girls and guys have been slowly picked off over the years and as much as our married and/or attached friends love us our friendships are no longer the priority in our lives. When did it become all right in our lives to let go of the people that have been with us for years through the good times and the bad just because they are in a serious relationship?
A friendship between single people is a commitment not so unlike that commitment of marriage. All true friendships go through the stages of a marriage to a varying degree. First there's meeting someone new and the excitement of doing different things or even the same things as before but it's different because it's with someone new. Then the point where new friends seem to be attached at the hip - where you do everything together from parties to hanging out watching the Super Bowl. Just when you think you've found your new best friend something happens that causes a fight, which of course in true friendship will be mended with time. And then the cycle repeats. This enlightenment occurred this past weekend at a close friends wedding as I was walking down the aisle to the step.... pause...step...pause music that all weddings seem to have. As I stood there supporting my friend at the beginning of a new chapter of her life I realized that I might never be at my own wedding. As I stood there looking at the spectators of the event I could not even picture myself there, as I couldn't even picture the groom yet. Have I let my perfect match pass me by? I know I haven't!

Still not sure what to write well follow these great tips on getting started:
Write about yourself --- use adjectives ---- Adjectives are describing words (such as funny, honest, beautiful, quiet, small, etc.) to describe your personality and try to have specific examples about yourself. If you are outgoing and like poetry try something like I really love poetry and I am pretty outgoing...I don't shy away from things I have organized a few poetry reading groups it is great!
Tell a story about yourself --- A story tells about your personality better than any other way
Don't pretend to be something you aren't --- if you talk silly right the way you talk...if you aren't honest to begin with it will only hurt you in the long run
Proofread your work --- make sure that you have crossed your T's and dotted your I's. Remember this is a first impression and you want to look your best.
Make changes if you aren't getting the right responses ...it's all right practice makes perfect.
Don't give out any personal contact information until your instincts tell you that this is someone you can trust. Take your time! It's difficult to get a sense from just a few emails.
