Breaking Up is Hard to Do!

Breaking Up is Hard to Do!

Breaking Up is Hard to Do! Breaking up with someone really is hard to do. There are so many emotions and doubts that surface before, during and after the breakup. How do you breakup with someone that you know is just not right for you? Why is it that just when you think the person is 'the one' that you see something that either makes you bolt for the door or just accept it. There are no fairytale endings in the real world. It would be nice to say there is but in truth you will have more relationships that don't work than do work. I am very independent although I do love to spend time with a boyfriend I cannot spend all my time with my boyfriend. I begin to feel smothered and claustrophobic if someone's entire happiness is dependent on me. I believe that for a relationship to be healthy and successful that you need to have your own life and activities outside of the relationship. I tried to explain this to my birthday dater who I've been seeing for close to two months but he doesn't see it that way. I thought it was sweet at first that he wanted to spend all his time with me but over the last 2 weeks he wants to spend all his time with me and when he's not with me he text messages me on my blackberry, my email, my cell phone. I tried to talk to him about this but he tells me that it is that we are meant to be together - to make each other happy. That shocked me! It was a whole side of him I had never seen. You can't rely on someone else to make you happy! As sad as I am I had to face the reality that I could not be with someone long term that feels this way and doesn't see the other side. Single again but never lonely. Back into the dating game I go! Do you believe that it is up to your partner to make you happy or do you think you should make yourself happy?
