The Talk
I can't believe that it's already September. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing and that is my favorite time of year. The kids are back in school, which gives the parents a little break sometimes. With the nights getting longer and colder you get more of an excuse to snuggle up next to someone and make your dates a little longer.
With everything that is going wrong in our world right now it is nice to be able to think of something that makes me happy. From insanely high gas prices to the tragedy and devastation caused by hurricane Katrina it is a wonder that I can still be happy. I am though because of the great guy in my life. We have now been dating for about 6 weeks although we haven't had 'the talk' about what our status would be. I remember growing up that we didn't go on dates - we hung out. We weren't boyfriend and girlfriend - we were together. Now that I'm older and somewhat wiser I still don't want to have a talk to figure out a label. There are so many labels in our society that I don't want to have one. I'm just happy with being with this great guy and enjoying our time together and taking it one day at a time and it's the first time that I've really taken this approach to dating since I was in high school. And it's working! Why did I ever change from this approach? When I was younger relationships lasted a lot longer without the labels or the talks - I don't ever want to go back.
