Why is it that when people first get together or a couple gets back together that they agree to take it slow and one person never does? Whether it be moving to fast physically or calling them your boyfriend or girlfriend again after the second day of working on things someone always ends up getting hurt. No matter how clear you think your expectations are there is always bound to be a miscommunication at some point that causes the argument that causes the hurt. It seems as though when you are happy and feeling in love or the prospect of being in love with someone new or again that you expect them to be at the same point that you are at. However, you can't control what the other person feels…you never have and you never will.
Emotions and explorations of love will come in your own time when your heart feels it…not because someone told you to feel it. As uncomfortable or as hurtful as it may be to tell that person who has deep feelings for you that you are not at that level yet - you must do it.
Mr. New Years and I were on a date this week and I was pre-occupied with thoughts of what were to come in a relationship while eating our dinner when he told me that he is not sure if he wants to progress further in our relationship romantically as we both recently got out of serious relationships and he didn't want 'Us' to be the rebound relationship. It was a shock but it also brought me back down to earth…to reality. I'm not in love with him nor he with me…we agreed to just take it slow and see each other on a limited basis. At least for now!
