Happy Holidays everyone! Did the year just fly by? It seemed like it was only just the beginning of summer a short while ago. I really am in the 'Holiday Spirit' this year and am very excited to spend some time with my family as we celebrate Christmas. This year again I will have to fend off the questions of why I'm still single and why I don't settle down and that I don't have much time left to give my parents grand-children. I thought of bringing one of my friends home with me to pose as my new 'beau' but I shouldn't have to lie to my family to get them off my back about being single. Shouldn't it be enough that we are spending time together rather then focusing on the fact that I'm single?
This question came up a lot in my group date last week as we are all single and looking and have families that are always trying to set us up on dates with Gramma's cute delivery boy or a sister's co-worker. It always seems that when you are happing being single and going on a few dates that your circle of friends and family seem to think that you are not truly happy being single. People are single for so many reasons - career ambitions, location, etc or just simply not wanting to settle for being with someone just so you can be with someone. When you look to be with someone to make your life complete that is when you shouldn't be looking for a relationship.
I plan to spend my holidays with my family being content on being with them. I am happy with my life, my job and my friends. Who knows what the new year has in store for me. Maybe it's a great guy and a relationship but that'll depend more on me then any horoscope or hoping can do.
