Just before Valentine's Day, I started pulling my profiles off all online sites because men seemed to want only younger women. Only my profile on iMatch remained, when I saw a new man on the site. He caught my interest but his search ages didn't include mine. Tired of being rejected, I sent Ken a sarcastic email about his age prejudice, never expecting an answer. But he did answer, intrigued by my spunk. Emails flew back and forth between Tennessee and Oregon, then days of phone calls. On February 23, he flew here to live. In my haste to catch the transport bus to the airport I put in the wrong contacts. I couldn't drive because of a fracture boot on one foot. I worried about recognizing Ken because I couldn't see clearly more than 6 feet away. A tall, dark haired man with a moustache walked straight to me, gave me a kiss, and said "have you ever been kissed by a hillbilly?" We both instantly knew we had found that 'elusive' mate everyone searches for. His being several years younger meant nothing. Against all odds the relationship between a long haul driver and the widowed professional writer blossomed into a fairy tale love. We were married April 2.
